Yep. Everything from packages and pricing, products, website and blog--Just about all aspects of Vivitography are being completely overhauled in an effort to create a more unique, polished and simply better experience when you book a session with me.

Over the next few weeks and months, I'll be hard at work behind the scenes taking care of "business". With roughly 15 weeks to go before the birth of our baby boy {Easton, due at the end of March}, I'm hoping to have all of my re-vamping done by the time he arrives.

These are our friends the Patronellas, who just welcomed their second baby boy into the world. We are so blessed with their friendship, and I was blessed by capturing a few moments of their family. Getting to spend a little time with this sweet boy makes me even more excited to meet our own baby boy in March. I'm so thankful we have good friends to share our lives with.

Amanda and Chris | Maternity Shoot

A small town a little over and hour south of Dallas served as the location for this shoot. Though there wasn't much going on the Saturday morning after Thanksgiving in Corsicana, TX, it's easy to tell there is a lot of history there. Their quaint downtown was full of old doors and bricks that I loved being able to use. I don't often get off I-45 to explore the small towns between Dallas and Houston, but I may just have to start. Thanks Amanda and Chris for making the drive!

I've now had the pleasure of photographing this family 4 times, when the twins were 3, 6, 18 months, and now at 2 years. I love seeing them grow, and that their parent's have trusted me as their photographer for nearly two years. I'm grateful for return clients like them.

Olivia | Houston Area Portrait Photography

Lately, the blog has been a little neglected. With an 11 month old, and another little one on the way, I don't have a ton of energy, really to do much of anything. Now that I'm past the 1st trimester, I'm hoping to regain some of that energy and get some work done! Anyway, meet Olivia, one of the prettiest babies ever. On my last trip to Houston, I had a little time to do a quick session with this sweet three-month-old before a nasty rainstorm hit the city. This was my one and only session that weekend thanks to the weather, but I'm so glad I at least had time for this one. Hopefully I'll be seeing more of little Olivia very soon.

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of photographing my friend Lisa's Bridal Portraits. Since the wedding took place a couple of days ago, I can finally post some of my favorite shots. The reception was held at the Hickory Street Annex here in Dallas; as a part of the package, Lisa was allowed some time in the venue to have her bridals done. I'm pretty much in love with that place and all the beautiful sunlight that flows into the room. Anyway, aren't her dress and veil gorgeous? I'm so happy for her!

One Year Old Katie + Cake | Dallas Children Photographer

This is one-year-old Katie. Despite the rainy weather, we decided to go forth with the session thanks to a friend who graciously let us use her house and awesome furniture for Katie's session. We started out on the porch, moved into the house {and lovely yellow chair}, then back out to the porch for some cake. Enjoy, and let me know what you think! I love hearing your comments.

This is an example of simple coordination; colors and patterns that are complimentary, but not distracting. Of course, there are more trendy outfits to choose from, but this is great for the couple that wants to look back on their photos years from now, without thinking "What on earth was I wearing?"

New Supported Ministry

Did you know a portion of every portrait session is donated to one of my supported ministries and/or organizations? That's what "Photography with a Mission" is all about. Vivitography was started out of my love for photography as a means of support for those who have devoted their lives to serving others, to the glory of God. If you haven't already, please take a moment to read more about Vivitography under the "About" tab at the top of this page. In the meantime, here is a look at the newest addition to my Support list:

The Blanchards for FreeCity International:

FREE CITY INTERNATIONAL (FCI) is a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Dallas, TX that aims at creating a platform for the church body to “do life” with the refugees and disadvantaged peoples in our community and throughout the world. The Blanchards strive to love these people and show them the love of Jesus Christ by living as He did. Brad, Lindsey, and their son Cohen currently lives amongst these people in an area of Dallas known as Vickery Meadows, which houses one of the largest refugee populations in Texas. Since October of 2009, they have been building relationships with families from all over the world with different backgrounds and beliefs. Through immersion into their cultures, by living with them in their setting, their hope is that the Lord would allow them the opportunity to share our love for Him and participate in His work of building His church. FCI has also established several programs for connecting the church body at large with this community, and will be launching all programs on May 8th, 2010. More can be found about this organization and its programs by visiting http://www.freecityinternational.org. This is sweet little blue-eyed Quentin, along with his mom, grandparents and Layla the dog. This session took place in Alvin, TX, a town south of Houston, not far from my hometown. Grandparents' land was a great place for our early morning session; equipped with a tractor, pond, windmill, horses, dogs and lots of other things this little boy is sure to love as he grows up! Session number four from my Houston photography trip. I met the Fields family at the Kemah Boardwalk as well. It had been years since I had been there; long before Hurricane Ike swept through. I had the opportunity to photograph this precious little preemie a few days before Christmas. She was born 9 weeks early at a tiny 2lb 10oz and is now 5 1/2 months old. Praise the Lord, for he is good!
